What is a Myers' Cocktail IV?

FAQ

The Myers’ Cocktail is a classic IV drip and continues to grow in popularity due to its potent mixture of nutrients and vitamins. Conceptualized by the late Dr. John Myers in the 1960s, the cocktail was designed to potentially treat several clinical conditions like fatigue, muscle spasms, and fibromyalgia among others. While the original preparation is still alive and kicking, many IV drip bar clinicians will custom tailor similar treatments according to their clients needs. Here at R&R IV Drip Bar we offer a classic Myers’ Cocktail and also have a menu of addons available a la carte to better enhance your health goals.

What is in a Myers’ Cocktail?

The standard classic Myers’ Cocktail includes a handful of powerful ingredients and substances:

  • Vitamins: Such as Vitamin C, B-Complex vitamins, and Vitamin B12.

  • Calcium: Calcium is important for bone formation and it also can help control irregular heartbeats.

  • Magnesium: Normally stored in bones, muscles, and soft tissues magnesium can reduce fatigue and muscle spasms.

  • Zinc: This element has been shown to help regulate the immune system. It is not naturally created in the body. Deficiency of zinc can lead to subsequent health issues.

  • Glutathione: A potent antioxidant that naturally occurs in the body, glutathione supports the immune system.

  • Saline Solution: All ingredients are combined in an IV bag usually consisting of normal saline, water that contains the same mixture of salts as our internal fluids.

There are different versions and preparations at different locations as well. However, at R&R IV Drip Bar we will work with you to always ensure your are getting the most effective treatment and can recommend other IV drips and addons as needed.

Is a Myers’ Cocktail Effective?

Many studies and clients reviews report this cocktail’s benefit to overall wellness, energy levels, and immune function. While some within the healthcare community dismiss these results a patient placebo, other studies firmly indicate that adequate vitamin and nutrient intake is vital for a fully functional body. Because all IV nutritional therapy has potential side-effects and interactions, a new R&R IV Drip Bar client will complete an intake form and have a clinical consultation with our staff. As with any healthcare initiative, everyone should discuss their concerns with their primary care physician.
